I have a P220 Carry Equinox, and it has been trouble free and I like it a lot. A good 4" TDA .45 autoloader. I really like the TFO front sight, it is awesome for daytime use. The trigger action rivals the Greyguns action job on my old P220 Carry.

Several friends have a Kimber CDP II, and they have been trouble free too.

Both pistols are custom shop made, and seem to be good examples of 4" .45 ACP's.

So which do you do better with, a TDA or a SA?

For carry, the 1911 is easier to find holsters.
