where do you guys buy these at? I can only see them on GB and at Gun shows...

I hear of these great prices, and all I find is the folks on GB that want more of a cut then the MFG makes....

several online retailers sell them. sarcoinc.com, centerfiresystems.com, and if you will locate bellshire hardware on Gb he seems to be fair on prices. i ordered mine from sarco. the fullsize tactical cost me $425 tax and transfer fee included. i have been extremely happy with mine. for the price they cant be beat

I bought two GI's from Big R, but that's all they carry. I bought a Compact from Sarco, very happy with it and the transaction. I have the purple hornies for one of the new satin nickel Tacticals from Centerfire though.

My wife bought a tactical for me for christmas a year ago. She had to order it through our local sporting goods store.

Note: the books that some retailers use list this gun under ARMSCOR.

I cant seem to pull up anything with rockisland on sarcoinc.com, I looked at centerfire's page, good prices... I'm looking for a 1911 CS (commander) in chrome, or stainless... do they make this?

Never seen one of those. I think that's actually the MS (midsize) model. The CS is the Compact (officer's), and I've never seen a nickel version of that either. They don't make stainless or hard chrome pistols at all, that I know of. Just Parkerized, polished nickel, or satin nickel.

Best bet would be to call Ivan at Advanced Tactical in Pahrump, NV. They're the importers.

I bought mine from Bellshire Hardware on gunbroker. They have great prices. Out of stock last time I checked.

Sarco has a very good price on the standard GI 45 version and others.

I just bought mine(plain GI type) at a 'local' shop. Local being 45-60 minutes away. :-P Brought it home today, feels nice, will see how it shoots this weekend. Paid $399 for it. They don't get them in too often though, and they're the only shop I've seen them in. Some of the net deals were cheaper, but after shipping/transfer most would have been the same, some more(transfer fees vary wildly).

They're hard to find around here too. I got mine at a gun show. It came with Pachmayr grips, one mag and no box or papers for $420.00 OTD. Haven't seen another one, even at the shows.

I did check the 1911 forum a couple times. Not much there either.
