What do you think - some steel wool and Breakfree ought to clear that up?

Looks like a Turnbull project.

And be sure to send off for a factory letter... if you can figure out what factory it came out of.

Good grief.

I've seen less rust on stuff lying around at Verdun.

That barrel pitting -- I've never seen anything like it.

Did you check to see if it was loaded before you handled it?

I think you should either:

1) Dump it in the garbage.
2) Dump it in the garbage.
Or:
3) Dump it in the garbage.

Even if I got a revolver like that to look absolutely clean, you couldn't pay me a million bucks to fire it more than once.

Put it on Gunbroker as 99% and "vintage". It's not much worse than some there now.

That's a helluva lot of trouble to go to for deactivating it... :D

If you refinish it, it will lose 50% of it's collector's value.

It IS quite a pattern of blood pitting.

Clearly a battlefield pickup.

A little CLP or a Dremel should clean it right up!

Looks like a Young American .32. Bet it's still loaded!

Probably an irrigation ditch or pond find. Very alkaline environment, wherever it was.

It would look good on a plaque.

Be sure that the steel wool you use is #0000. You don't want to risk harming the finish.

When did you go dive on the wreck of the Titanic??

Haven't you ever heard of 'patina'?

The guns on the Titanic are in better shape. Low-oxygen depths.

I was wondering what happened to that revolver that fell out of my holster and down the stool!;)

I've got a better idea. Take it to one of those clown cities that will give you $100.00 for it!

The Doc is out now.

If the bore is bright and shiney I'd give it a once over with steel wool and it's good to go.

If all the extravagant claims made for Breakfree are true, a couple of drops should have that gun in like new condition in no time.

Sell it on Ebay , claim that it belonged to Jessie James, and you just found it when you were planting corn.
