Michael Moore on the Today show.

Michael was talking to Lester Holt about Sept.11th and the Bush administration -
" Bad people will always exist and they will always do bad things. This is not justifation for the government to trample on the rights of US citizens."
I think he's too stupid to realize that he just contradicted everything he's preached about gun control over the last two years. Perhaps the thousands of letters and email's he's received from pro- gunners snuck into his brain without him realizing it.

Actually, he probably believes (as do many of the sheeple) that gun ownership is not an individual right at all, but one reserved to "the militia" (who, in his mindset, would exclude folks like us). Thus, he probably sees no contradiction in what he said... :barf:

Which in turn reinforces Atticus point.
Too stupid to read and understand the primary law of the land.
The Constitution.

Unbelievable. Just ... unbelievable. The "States rights" argument has been refuted so many times.

Moore also said the War on Terror is a Bush Administration fraud. He pointed out that no Americans have been killed stateside since 09/11/02, as if that event was some aberration that occurs from time-to-time.
He says the War on Terror is a neo-conservative plot to drill for oil in Alaska, and drive a host of other "conservative" agendas.
Maybe one reason no Americans in the USA have not been killed since 09/11/02 is that Feds broke up something like 100 plots to commit terrorist acts and arrested a number of plotters. I guess he never heard of bin Laden.
Moore also believes most Americans agree with him on most things such as the environment, labor unions, education, etc, etc. He says most Americans at heart are "liberals", but they just do not like some of the liberal political leadership, thinking we can do better than this.
Moore definitely has some issues.

" Bad people will always exist and they will always do bad things. This is not justifation for the government to trample on the rights of US citizens."If that's true, Mikie, how will we regain those rights without the threat or force of arms?
Do you suggest we vote them out of office after they have suspended voting rights?
Do you suggest we go to their offices and speak reasonably to them after they have declared Martial Law and suspended all unauthorized travel?
How do you suggest we regain the rights you claim we are losing once we are, at your behest, disarmed?

I said to my wife, "Michael Moore says there is no war on terror, do you feel safe now?" Lucky me, she shook her head and changed the channel. How NBC can ask this guy questions about foreign policy is beyond my comprehension. The interviewer acted like he was interviewing Mao Tse Tung.

Lester Holt was the interviewer. He sometimes sits in for Laurer/Blower. I get the impression that Holt is a serious reporter. When watching the show, I had a feeling Holt was not taking Moore very seriously.
Moore was on promoting his latest book, which I am sure is a must read.:D

Attention: security professionals. There is no terrorist threat according to international affairs expert Michael Moore. You can all pack up and go home.
No terrorist incidents in the past year or 2? Hmm ... something about Bali, Saudi Arabia/Morocco bombings, bombing of the French tanker, arrests of terror cells in Europe, active campaign against a resurgent Taliban in central Asia . . .

Disclaimer- My wife thinks Mutt is cute....so I see more of Kitty and Mutt than I care to. Lester Holt is a breath of fresh air though. I agree that he is a good interviewer, and he seems to be detached from the liberal goo gahing that normally goes on at NBC.

7 questions for Michel Moore:
1. Why have you refused to issue corrections for books like Stupid White Men that have been savaged in the press for the unusually high rate of errors and misrepresentations they contain?
2. Why do you keep circulating urban myths long after they've been shot down?
3. How did you manage to make an entire movie about gun violence without exploring the violent crime in lower class minority neighborhoods?
4. What was it like getting booed while giving your Oscar acceptance speech?
5. Why aren't you allowing advance review copies of your latest book to go out before you start on your promotional speaking tour?
6. How does someone who complains relentlessly about corporations and wealthy executives who prefer profits over people justify his exorbitant lifestyle including a $1.3 million home on the Upper West Side?
7. Why is it unfair to draw conclusions about you based on your fat, slovenly appearance?

Moore said "There is no terrorist threat in the US." What a naive dipsh*t.
I think Lester Holt stopped taking him seriously at about that point.
Lester Holt also said (and I do not necessarily agree with the following assessment) something like "You have the ultraconservative authors such as Bill O'reilly (yeah right!) and Ann Coulter on one hand who represent the extreme right, do you feel that you represent the extreme left and are way off of how the average American feels?"
Moore responded with something like "No way, those guys are the ones that are way off. Most Americans are liberal. 80% of Americans are pro-choice to some extent, 68% support (some liberal cause that I can't recall at the moment) and 58% are pro-labor union."
I think I'm slightly off on the stats but that's ballpark to what he said. I wish I could remember the second stat too. This guy is living in a dreamland.
The reporter actually asked some good, tough questions (except for the slanted question about the extreme right and left which would have been good had he phrased it differently) but really didn't go for the jugular, of course.

As a Michigander, I apologize that this assclown from Davison, MI (Flint Suburb) is inflicted on all of the USA.
We don't like him here, either.
