I was hearing on GunTalk’s show this afternoon where the military has apparently announced in the past week that any future military once-fired brass that is sold can only be sold as scrap with mandatory requirements that it must be shredded and not re-sold in a reloadable condition… has anyone else heard anything about this and what are the thoughts about what impact it will have on market availability of once fired .45/.223/.308 for reloaders?

This has been being hashed about in the general areas... and several of those threads have been closed. From what I am to undersatnd is it is 50 cal and larger calibers... but, who knows... it'll filter itself out in time... I don't think it will affect many of use that drasticly in the sense most of what I have bought was range pick-up anyway...

There has already been a spate of protests to the DOD's misguided new ruling. Saw a post on another site by some dude who had called the NRA and was told DOD is already expected to issue a "waiver" to the rule for brass.

Do a little searching - google is your friend. You might start at the JFPO site......

I seen a link on another forum that showed a reloading supply store had suspended all milsurp brass sales.

The latest Shooting Wire said Georgia Arms has already cancelled sales due to this. But it is ok to sell the scrap to China. Just follow the political money and you will find the reason.
