I need a standard Series 80 grip safety for my 1991 to replace the 'drop in' thing that the pistol's PO installed. I can't find any - I looked at Brownells and Numrich.
Anyone with any ideas?

I'd contact Clark or other gunsmithing shop. They probably have crates of takeoff standard grip safeties that they replaced with beavertails.

Easy to make one from a pre-80 type. Just use a file on the inside face of the arm. I did that to beavertails before they were commonly available for S80 guns.

Yes, I've done that for a Springer safety to fit onto the 1991 while I look for a proper one. The Springer version that I had in the parts drawer was a stubby that had no tang, and I'm looking for something more traditional.
Calling the custom shops is a good idea, if I can keep them on the line long enough to hear me out. :)
I have ordered a Pachmayr Series 70 safety that I'll fit; does anyone here have any experiences with it that they'd like to share?
