I just bought a S&W 629 w/a 6 1/2 " barrel and Im thinking about putting a scope on it . I 'd like to see some of your 629's with the scope. Thx!

Here you go....

With hand loads I was getting about 6" groups at 100 yards. I took the scope off late last year and have been back to shooting irons for a while but it shot very well with the scope.

I put this holographic sight on my 629-6 not two weeks ago. It made a world of difference and I now know just how accurate this 44 Mag is as it brings its accuracy to fruition at longer distances as iron sights are not capable of. Most of the time I shoot one-handed, bullseye style, and the bulkiness and weight of a scope was not an option for me.

My current production 6" 629 with a Weigand rail, spare drawer rings, and a Weaver H2 2x28 scope - and S&W's (Hogue) .500 Magnum grips:

It was fun... for a bit... but is back to OEM iron sights. The first day at the range, the sight screw worked loose - I forgot to use blue Loctite! Good old S&W sent me a screw - and an '09 catalog - gratis. Their customer service is first rate - top drawer - in my book.

Here is a pic of my light hunter scoped with a bushnell elite 3200. It is my main hunting rig. It will consistantly do 2" at 50 yards. better if I am up to it.

Mine is post #5. I traded my AR for this beauty. I do wish it came with the hard sights as the scope has its limitations. Cost for new rear hard sight - $75.
