Estate Cartridges?

Has anyone used Estate brand ammunition before? Here's the description I got from Natchez:

This ammo is manufactured by Federal with Speer Soft Point Bullets!
Federal Premium style packaging with ammo in belt loop carriers.
It is the first centerfire rifle ammunition loaded with the Spear "Hot Cor" bonded bullets that handloaders have been using for years for outstanding performance on big game. These Spear bullets hold together very well as they strike and penetrate more dependably and deeply, in general, than bullets produced by swaging.

So is this stuff any good? I want to find some relatively inexpensive .30-06 practice ammo and I was wondering if anyone had any positive experiences with this brand.
Thanks in advance.
-Nic

Federal makes good ammo. I've always had good accuracy from Speer bullets.

I once ran across some "Hansen" GI-type ammo from Czechoslovakia which was one-MOA stuff. For price, the best bet seems to be to check through Shotgun News for the bulk-ammo sellers.

Websites include such as Ammoman, plus numerous others. And, many of the Shotgun News ads show web addresses.

The long-run least-cost would be to get a used C-type press and dies from a gunshow, plus some scales, and roll your own. You can buy bulk .308 bullets. You can hold down the powder costs by using 2400 and mid-range loads, practicing for coordination of eye and trigger finger. Low recoil, negligible rate of throat erosion. The loading keeps you out of the beer joints at night, and the cost would run about 15 cents a round.

I bought several cases of Estate 1oz 12 ga loads after I found that Winchester White Box 7/8 oz loads would not operate my new Stoeger B2000. I've put at least a case of the Estate fodder through the gun with no problems to report. It's probably a little soft for reliably knocking down birds, but it seems fine for blasting clays at the range.

I've shot up probably 20 boxes of the 180 Gr 308 Soft Point ammo. Works just fine. haven't really concentrated too much on accuracy, just functioning and plinker stuff.
