Ok so I went out and bought my first Garand today (.308 unfortunately but still a Garand and yes it's a rebarrel), it only came with 1 en bloc though. So I know I need more en blocs but what else do I need to take care of this puppy?

A military sling, (doubles as a shooting sling) as much ammo as you can afford, and a .30 caliber cleaning kit.

Past that, I don't think you need to add anything.

Get the US Army manuals covering the Garand, so you can learn the ins and outs of your rifle.

Ping!

Man, for a minute I thought this topic was about active Sonar! I guess I spent too much time in a submarine.:D

At least you didn't think it was about Golf :)

It took me a minute just to fit Garand with Ping. I'm slipping. I guess I need to go watch Saving Private Ryan again.

I love that sound! Sometimes, when I'm bored, I load up an *empty* clip into my Garand and cycle the action just to hear that music to my ears.

First time I shot one nobody told me that was going to happen. Emptied the mag, heard "Kaching!" and saw something out of the corner of my eye go flying past.
Thought the damn thing came apart on me

Add to list of necessities:

If you plan on shooting competition, get yourself a SLED single loading clip. This stays in the gun and allows you to single-load rounds much easier. You'll also need a 2-round clip so you can shoot the last two rounds of rapid fire.
