Cylinder catching on cloth? Shooting from concealment.

First, does anyone carry a revolver in a purse or jacket pocket? Second, does anyone do so with the plan of firing from the concealed position (at least the first one or two shots)? Third, has anyone actually practiced doing so? And last, if so, have you experienced any binding/catching with the cylinder?

I ask because I have long thought that one of the unique advantages of a small revolver (especially with an internal or shrouded hammer) is that it could be reliably fired while pressed against an adversary or concealed in a jacket or purse. While I am sure it has been done, I have no personal experience and am looking for some advice or otherwise useful information as it relates to shooting with the weapon concealed.

I will work, but you might light your pocket lint on fire.

Also, the cylinder gap flash might be rough on the family jewels when fired from a pants pocket.

For the most part, I am talking jackets or purses. Unless you have really huge pants pockets and really baggy pants, I can't see being able to point a handgun at an attacker from the pants pocket.

Oh! It's easy!

Ah! Ye ancient and honorable "pocket shot" speculation. Good fun.

This stayed pretty civil:

And this looks like fun, if one has already committed to a snub:

Personally, I don't view "pocket shots" or "pushed up against bad dude's gut" as much other than good natured fun for "revolver vs autoloader" threads. They're quirks, not real advantages or disadvantages.
