How easy would it be to get an extra cylinder for my Super Redhawk?

I got a .454 Ruger SRH and I heard that shooting .45 LC in it will
built up carbon at the case mouth and might cause an over
pressure when shooting .454 . I figure a dedicated .45 LC cylinder
might be a good idea if this is the case. Is it easy to remove the
cylinder? Will Ruger sell an extra to an individual?

Ruger doesn't offer this service for double-action revos. I not even sure they do it for single-actions. If you clean out the chamber with a bore brush after you shoot, carbon build up is not a problem.

This would be a custom job, as (to the best of my knowledge) the Super Redhawk is not available in .45 Colt, and I doubt if a .45 Colt cylinder from a Redhawk would interchange. Ruger will service and repair their firearms, but only to original factory specs; they have no "custom shop."

Someone like Hamilton Bowen might be able to machine and fit a custom cylinder, but this would cost more than a whole gun.

Shooting 45 Colt in a .454 is no different than shooting 38 Sp's in a .357 Mag. Like earlier said, just clean it before switching back to .454's. It's not that hard. Just get a 45 chamber brush. A bore brush won't really fit snug enoughto do a good job.

Thank you all for the replies.
I do clean the bore and cylinder
every time I shoot it.
