that bullet probably weighs as much as my hand, let alone the case and powder!
you know it's something special when they have to use steel cases due to the fact that brass would melt...yikes!

Steel cases are required because the operating pressure of the new cartridge would melt brass cases

Just imagine what would happen if they loaded it with DRT ammo:neener:

If it's real, the "bigger caliber" race is getting ridiculous. I smell a fake though. I hope.

PT1911
March 19, 2009, 11:19 PM
I am sure it is a fake, making fun of that very race and every new hunter thinking he needs a 300 win mag to take down the doe that feeds in his back yard.. the bigger the hole the better right?

If these things werent on back order already I would have one. I would pay to see some one shoot any handgun with 125# of recoil. That is pretty funny all the way through and I really want to see this sweet new wheel gun with the 9 lug weatherby design.

LMAO

Our cartridge design team spent months surveying the market and concluded that the new cartridge should be between .800 and .850 caliber. This is because big game has, undeniably, become progressively harder to kill during the last century.

Big game has become harder to kill in the last century? What?

Yeah... the deer in these parts have been sporting body armor lately. Most likely black market stuff from the caribou up north.

As can clearly be seen from the forgoing history, the pace of big game indestructibility is quickening.

it was only a matter of time before they became impervious...

LMAO...

So to be the most powerful handgun cartridge in the world, doesn't there have to be a handgun to fire it?

Gotta love these spoofs/jokes.

I really liked the Online Super Magnum Red Rider BB Gun. http://www.chuckhawks.com/g-s_online_BB_rifle.htm

Preliminary testing of the new cartridge has been conducted using a single shot, closed-breech pistol with a 10" barrel and has yielded excellent accuracy results. 5-shot, 100 yard groups have averaged 0.2 MOA, with the largest groups measuring 0.5" and the smallest groups measuring 0.1", regardless of who on the Guns and Shooting Online staff has done the shooting. Seldom, outside of the pages of print magazines, has the shooting world seen such a consistently accurate cartridge.

Wouldn't a firearm chambered for a round that large be classified as a Destructive Device? To my understanding, it is illegal to produce any new cartridge that exceeds .50 caliber without the Destructive Device classification, and only preexisting big game cartridges were grandfathered in.

Its not real. It was meant as a joke towards the people who keep saying you having to have the biggest fastest cartridge availible to be able to hunt anything deer size or bigger.

I think there is some kind of... inadequacy in the movie props maker.

There is a local Station pumping out 24/7 big large dangerous game killings in a variety of shoots on the TV here at home over DTV. Alot of fun.

Most of the time rifles have it

We're not really fond of people bumping threads around here. Especially when they're not adding anything and linked to a joke article.
