From time to time I carry a 649-2 S&W. Would it be safe to fire +P'S if needed? Thanks

The M649 was introduced in 1985. All of the M649's are rated for .38 Special +P ammo according to the SCSW 3rd Edition. Of Course starting with the M649-3 they are .357 Magnum rated.
