Now that Arnold is Govenor, what will this mean for gun folks in California? They have really been treated poorly in the past with all the regulations. Will this bad treatment continue? Any changes? Predictions?

The corrupt mess we have today that passes as government on all levels makes the officials who are in charge cringe everytime they think about the 2nd Amendment. That right was established not so we could shoot paper targets, hunt skunks,....er,....ah,.....well,... deer... or defend ourselves against armed outlaws. It was placed there to give us the RIGHT and charge us with the RESPONSIBILITY to clean out the anti-liberty Anti-Americans who might arise and through manipulation of the ignorant VOTING masses install tyranny in this county. We are getting to that point FAST!

A home invader, bank robber or school yard shooter, as hideous as their acts are, pose NO threat to the Anti-Liberty government manipulators. Guns in the hands of honest people is one hell of a daunting sight to these worms such as Chap-Of-Quick-Dick Teddy or Hitlary or the Anti Constitutional Liberties Union. This fact is why all the laws seek to undermine gun rights for the honest citizen and never speaks to the gun criminals.

So. If Arnold is in the A-A camp, watch out!

My comments:

1) Arnold has been giving money to pro-gun groups. For *years*. Good size chunks, too. Yup. This is what I was gagged on. So I'm not terribly worried about that stance.

With all due respect (I'm sure you know better than I) what "pro-gun groups"? The NRA?

Did he ever contribute to anti- gun groups?

Does either mean anything other than he knows how to "grease the wheels"?

I guess we'll see if he takes a pro-gun stance through word and deed.

My fear is that the Democrats have put another Kennedy into office.:uhoh:

Arnold obviously immersed himself in a crash course in conservative politics at the eleventh hour. Let's hope he at least got sprinkled with pro-RKBA dust in the process.

Feel free to be as depressed as you lie...but IMHO.........

1. Things can only be better than they were

2. He can only do so much....there is still a decidedly liberal slant to the legislature.

He is supposed to uphold the will of the people....not be a dictator that enacts your will...or even his. You now need to get the right legislation to his desk...then we will see.

Well, on 3hrs sleep, I didn't completely read the other posts, so forgive if you already covered this. I'm much less concerned with Arnold as gov than I was with that slimey SOB Davis. He has line item veto and I believe he will use it. I am not all concerned about the Kennedy's. I think Arnold is independent of them. I really believe he will work his guts out for this state. He strikes me as one who knows what the world outside of CONUS is really like and therefore has much higher level of appreciation than most of us for freedom and the sacrifice it requires. I am happy as a cat in a cannery to have him. By the way, he isn't the first actor I voted for and the last one did one awesome job!!!

Probably absolutely nothing much of anything different.

2dogs: we suspect the NRA got some but CCRKBA and/or SAF also got a bunch. Not sure which but it hardly matters, both are relatively obscure outside of the gunnie world.

What does that make him?

:scrutiny:

He appears to have avoided giving money to pro-gun PACs where he might have to report his donations publicly.

What does that make him?

Beats me.

I guess we may all find out.

Hope for the best, eh?:)

Worst case scenario, he could be just liberal enough to want to take guns away from everybody and just conservative enough to want to eliminate taxes on rich people and businesses. Not to mention, cut down redwoods to build oil drilling platforms up and down the coast.

Since he has yet to voice any actual position on any subject, he can do anything he wants without breaking a campaign promise.

Point well spoken :)

You want to see a real RINO in action? Go to Colorado and check out Bill Owens.

In one of the interviews with Arnold just prior to election day he stated that he supported the 2nd amendment and the brady bill, kinda like Bush's stance. In the best case, maybe he is a sleeper that will quitely support RKBA in a hostile land. At the worst, well...

The way I look at it, at least he is a Repub executive in charge of a very important electorial state and that is a step in the right direction for the national picture. Will he be able to overturn cali's existing gun laws, if he is successful in turning the state's economy around, then he will probably be able to do damn near anything he wants. Its more likely however that what he will bring is the ability to begin eroding the lock the demos have on the gov't bodies in calif - and that too is a step in the right direction.

CA is so close to a virtual ban on gun sales that to take the state any further down the gun control road, you would have to be a true gun control zealot which Arnold is not. If you put him in 12 years ago, he would have probably signed things like waiting periods and maybe licensing type stuff - a light to moderate AW ban, etc. California is so far beyond all that stuff, that the only thing left to do is punitive taxing and confiscation.

Yep.

It is difficult to see how things can get any worse for gun owners in California.

I don't think that Arnold or the legislature is going to even think about gun control stuff, since there will be many other fights.

The good news is that they will leave us alone. The bad news is that we will maintain the status quo.
