Mexican shot by his own dog
A Mexican man who was shot in the back and neck says his dog did it.
Juan Evangelista Poot, 22, from Yucatan, told doctors he was outside his house when he was hit.
He turned around and saw that the dog had picked up his gun and was holding it in his mouth, reports Las Ultimas Noticias online.
Mr Poot took himself to the Hospital de la Seguridad Social Federal.
He said: "I don't know how this happened. One minute we were playing and the next he had the gun in his mouth. This dog is my best friend."
A police spokesperson said: "This is the most amazing story I have ever come across. And, so far as we can tell, the man is telling the truth.
"Somehow the dog managed to fire the gun, but it is not like we will arrest him is it?"

..."No one can like a Mexi - can!"
Best line from Once Upon a Time in Mexico (and yeah, I know, Johnny Depp's the devil or something):
"Are you a Mexi-can, or a Mexi-can't?" :D
I'm enough of a safety freak that I won't leave loaded guns within reach of my dogs for this very reason.

Happens to all child stars. The Taco Bell dog had it all and then had nothing. Once he hit rock bottom it was only a matter of time. Danny Bonnaducci, Willis, and now the Taco Bell Dog.
I just want to know when he will get his own E Hollywood True story.

Interesting that they didn't arrest the guy who got shot. Guns are illegal in Mexico to own. He must be an elite or a well-connected drug runner. Every so often an American gets big jail time here in San Diego for a bullet or a gun accidently left in their vehicle when they go to mex.

No, guns aren't illegal in Mexico. You just have to jump through the appropriate hoops.

I'm with Sam on this one. The dog would have dropped the gun when it went off... There's more to this story.

A Mexican man who was shot in the back and neck says his dog did it.
Once shot is far fetched, twice and the tin foil hats need to be doned.
Another fine example of the gene pool needing more chlorine.

I thought this was a Cruze Bustamonte thread.
I'm just bitter ebcause I'm going to have to listen to that jagged-toothed Austrian for the next four years.
My wife asked why it is he's been in the country for 30 years and still talks like he just stepped off the boat yesterday. Good question... maybe they should have asked him that one at the debate...:barf:

Suddenly had the image of the Taco Bell dog with a vintage Schmidt-Rubin, a la Joey Garza in "The Streets of Laredo"
As Judge Roy Bean would say, "I cannot abide a Mexican dog that can kill a man at half a mile!"

I caught my greyhound sniffing a pistol on a table once. Gave him a sharp "no".
Musta been the Hoppes smell as he is a generally curious dog....

Another use for a GLock...
CHEW TOY
I guess it had the evil, and illegal in the US, combination flash hider/suppressor/muzzle brake on it so it didn't scare the dog.

"Another use for a GLock...
CHEW TOY"
Mac Scott, 1/2 of the gunsmithing team of Scott McDougal out in California, used to have a picture on the website of the shop dog, Ginger, with her favorite chew toy, the frame for a Glock semi-auto with all the metal parts stripped out of it.

Not the first time a dog - heck, how about an ARMADILLO? - has shot a man! See this thread (http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=48612&highlight=Dog+shoots+man) on our predecessor forum, The Firing Line. (Dog story is last in the thread.)

The dog is still holding the gun AFTER it was fired TWICE? Nah, I think the Cat is framing the poor dog.

Sounds like a Looney Tunes episode......
Spike is chasing Sylvester who is chasing Tweety.
Sylvester finds Granny's Ruger .22.
Sylvester takes aim.
Spike tackles Sylvester.
The pistol goes off and shoots Granny twice.
Sylvester pushes the pistol into Spikes paws.
Spike spends the next week in the doghouse.
