pistol grip stock for a SX2?

I'm curious if a pistol grip stock will speed up my weak-hand reloads with a SX2...but haven't found anything that will fit that particular shotgun.
Does the SX2 have the same general receiver as any other shotgun (for which pistol grip stocks are made)?
Or more to the point, does anyone make a pistol grip type stock for the SX2?
Thanks,
Alex

Dave McCracken sells pistol grip stocks for everything. He is the pistol grip MAN!
Actually, he prefers no stock at all...he just holds the receiver in his hand.

Sounds promising! Winchester and Speedfeed were of no help ;)
Does Mr. McCracken have a website?
Thanks,
Alex

If you want to do a weak hand reload while keeping the stock on your shoulder, a pistol grip will help. If you dismount the gun and roll it over, the pistol grip will get in the way.

Dave will be along shortly to tell you about the wonders of the pistol grip.

I'm moderately familiar with the various "loading under the clock" techniques after shooting IPSC Three-gun for years (and after playing CRO and stage designer for the 2003 Texas State 3-Gun, boy some of those boys can SHOOT), but am loath to swap my SX2 for a Benelli just because of the pistol grip issue.
I'd like to try a pistol grip stock (not just a pistol grip) for the "load left, weapon shouldered" technique instead of my usual "invert/cradle load right" style, of course.
My Open shotgun is under 36" overall and maxes out at 21 rounds (11 for IPSC rules...with sub 2-second 10-round reloads)...I'm very happy with it...but I'm still messing around with the Limited setups :)

PS And the 2004 Texas State Three-Gun will be held in San Angelo, Texas the second weekend in April...mark your calenders now ;)

Hi Wakal !
The SX2 is not compatable with the reciever on anything that I can think of and I don't believe anybody is making a pistol grip stock for this gun. The bottom line is you are likely out of luck unless something has come along I haven't heard of. I don't remember Dave as being a fan of the pg stock so it's likely he will give you his reasons why . ( I second what C.R.Sam said ! :D :D )
Sounds like you have an interesting plan for that pg stock - not sure if anything could be adapted easily .

Guys, guys, it's not stocks with PGs on shotguns that doth rouse my ire, it's PG ONLYs. Some of you know but just like to gently press my buttons..
Wakal, I know of no such stock made now, but...
Get on the horn to Winchester. Mention your wants, and also that there's lots of folks out there interested in the X2's practical aspects, and that it's the fastest growing segment of shotgun sports. If they're not considering making a stock that fits your specs, I'd be surprised.
If you've no positive feedback from them, try Boyd's. Wenig is not interested in PG or even much thumbhole business. Boyd's is.

...see, and I misread the thread title as "Pistol grip stock for SxS" and thought that someone was going for the tactical look on their Purdey. :uhoh:

You mean I should take the plastic pistol grip stock and flashlight forend off my K-80?
Thanks for the advice, I'll see if I can find someone more amitable to discussion at Winchester...and give Boyd's a shot (so to speak) :)

I fell into the trap just like Tam did.
Was imagining what my Win 21 would look like with tactical black n double PGs.
Then took my meds and felt better.
