Beretta 501S

Bought a beautiful Beretta 501S in 30-06 and need some idea of what scope bases to ask for.
I believe the rifle was imported in the middle 80's.
I have given up on Leupold after 20+ years - they are excellent - and want to get some lightweight Talley one piece ring/base. I couldn't get an answer from Leupold CS anyways.

This rifle SURE looks like a SAKO, but it has "made in ITALY" stamped on the barrel and receiver.
I'm pretty sure it is a SAKO - but ordering the ring/base from Talley needs to be right, returns aren't any fun for me.
Any of you guys know if these beretta rifles are the same as the sako's?

berettashotgun, the Beretta Model 501 used the NATO STANAG 2324 -compliant scope mounts. STANAG 2324 is the adoption of the US MIL-STD-1913 "Picatinny rail". Hope this helps!
