Hey all,

One of these airweight snubbies came up for sale near me and, K-frame addict that I am, I'm horribly tempted. It locks up tight as a drum and looks good, but it's on the far side of $450.

Still, temptation looms. Any opinions, thoughts, cautions or other owner input would be appreciated... price? General opinion?

Thanks!

Very under appreciated gun.

If it's a round butt, I'd buy it if you have need of this type of gun.

Per the Standard Catalog of S&W the 12-3 Military & Police Airweight was manufactured from 1977-1984, standard K frame grips will not be a proper fit as the alloy grip frame is .080 of an inch thinner than the steel K frame. The 12-4 used the standard thickness frame.

In 2006 the Standard Catalog of S&W gave a value of $470 for as new in box, $375 in excellent condition.

Weight for the two inch variant is 18 ounces.

An Airweight K frame with a 2" barrel is a VERY nice carry revolver.

Buy it. I have a 12-2 that ran me 450.00 last year.
