Well, I guess I've earned the Black Powder Shooter's PETA Safe seal of approval this morning. I was out walking in the back 40 of my sisters' land this morning with my '58 Remington .44 loaded for plinking with RB and 35 gr 3Fg.

Wasn't out 10 minutes to get to a creek with high banks to use as a back stop, when a youngish looking Coyote trotted out not 50 feet in front of me and starting walking the trail towards the same creek (crick?). I unholstered, took aim, and shouted BANG! The leap, turn, and yelp that scraggly dog made as he darted off back into the woods was priceless! And I still had my six shots for plinking.

No one but you guys even know this happened. :)

And the coyote isn't talking I imagine.

Yup, it's gonna be a good day I think. It certainly was for one lucky dog.

I stand and salute you friend ... I used to hunt Coyotes when there was a price of $75 on their pelt. The last one I shot was more years ago than I remember...was a 400 yard shot with a scoped XM177E2(M16) Bullseye on the 4th or trailing Dog up the spout. Upon closer examination I found it was a 4-6 mo. old pup. That was my last Coyote Kill.

You speak too soon... surely you will be contacted by the coyote's lawyer on how you caused irrepairable harm and mental anguish to said coyote through your intimidating antics.

If PETA could see some of these hungry and scraggly coyotes around here, they would shoot them to put them out of their misery.....

Maybe it wasn't a coyote at all. Maybe it was one of those PETA women. They have bad hair and bodies. Next time shoot and check out the critter.
They have to pay good lookin women to their adds.:neener:
