Hornady manual load data question

I've been reading my manual (newest 7th ed), and I am curious if the powder data and OAL listed for various lead and FMJ/JHP rounds carries over to non-Hornady bullets of the same weight and type.

For example, if the Hornady manual says for 38 special that lead 158 grain LRN, SWC, and SWC HP are all COL 1.455" and can use Bullseye 2.8 to 3.7 max. I have the 158 gr SWC bullets from Dardas. Can I use this same seating and powder data?

Thanks for clearing up a newbie question!

I have no idea what "Darda'" bullets are, but if the same weight, diameter and can be crimped into the case with the same OAL, I can't see why you couldn't use them like any other bullet. Perhaps others can shed some more light on these bullets. :scrutiny:

Yes, bullet weight is the key as a rule, with seating depth a minor consideration. If you crimp, seating depth is pretty much an established point with the crimp groove.
