Not really hunting, but humanely exterminating.
I've been putting off the garage cleaning for some time, but decided to get to it today. I found 2 mice scurrying around. Instead of putting out glue traps so they can starve and dessicate or good ole Warfarin so they can bleed out, I decided to break out the old Powerline 880.
I've had this rifle for a good 12 years now and have oiled the hinges and seals twice a year or so and shot it from time to time. I'm sure it isn't as fast as it used to be, but I gathered it up and found some wadcutter pellets.
Shooting distance was 15-25 feet. Those little mice were awefully small in my sights as they were scurrying around, but I got both of em with one humane shot. Missed once, so my pellet expenditure was a whole whopping three pellets.
Not really blood lust here, I just figured it was a more humane way to go about getting rid of the pests and I was just impressed with my marksmanship. Haven't shot my rifles in a while, only hanguns of late.
Have a good day guys.
