I just received a new WASR 10 from Classic Arms. I got the one with an extra mag, accessories, and a slant muzzle brake for $579.00. This is cheap compared to any of the other new WASR AKs that I have seen. This AK looks great!! However, the muzzle brake seems to move a little. Is this a problem that will affect accuracy or cause a problem when shooting? Is this it supposed to be a little loose? If I push in the little catch button; the muzzle brake will make about half a turn; but then the muzzle brake is upside down. Any of you AK experts please advise.

I'm no expert but I had two WASRs and both the MBs would "wobble" a little --- shot hundreds of rounds thru them with the MBs never getting any more wobble to them.

Don't worry - mine does it, too, I've shot about 2000 rounds through it with no ill effects.

That's normal. That's the whole point of the catch button: to index it so it can't spin off. If you don't like it, you can always put a little bit of blue Loctite on the threads. That'll tighten it up nicely. Notice I said BLUE Loctite. Not red. You can break blue with physical force; red has to be heated to 300 degrees.

Yep, some looseness is just fine; that's why the pin is there. Much easier to design in a locating pin like that than to try to get QC good enough that all the brakes index just right when tightened all the way down.

Im' shocked that the brake is the only thing that rattles. Enjoy shooting it.

I have an ak74 arsenal break and it wobbles a bit too, and the stock slant did as well.

Some of them are pretty loose and there are others that are tight enough they cant be removed by physical force (by hand, with no assistance by a pair of vice grips or such)
I wouldn't worry about it. Shoot it and enjoy it.
