A few new guns approved in CA

Looks like the NAA Guardian .380 has been certified (at least, the model with the factory lock).
A batch of S&W automatics, and a batch of Taurus Ti snubbies.
Looks like a good week for Californians who want painful pocket rockets!

At least gun companies haven't totally abandoned us here in CA. The approved list seems to grow if not daily, weekly.

I wish Dan Wesson would get some of their pistols on the list. I'd like to get one of the Guardian Deuces, with the steel frame.

I found it made more sense to leave the People's Republic of California to return to the United States than wait for the socialists to deign to grant me the privilege of buying guns.

So you:
Told your friends that, while you enjoy their company, you want a gun more.
Told your wife she's moving because you want a gun. Its OK, she'll make new friends.
Told your kids they're moving because you want a gun. Its OK, they'll make new friends.
Told your kids grandparents they won't be able to see their grandchildren because you want a gun. Ditto for aunts and uncles.
Told your boss that, while you like your job, you want a new gun more. Oh, by the way, how about a reference?

The antifirearms laws are not the reason to leave California, they are just a symptom of the problem. The government in California is becoming too intrusive and overbearing in every facet of life for more and more people every day.
I say leave them to rot in their own mess. Any state that would reelect Gray Davis is lost.

You make some very good points Larry.
We have a new grandson, I doubt I can budge the wife (Grandma) for at least a couple of years, not to mention that I would hate to miss him growing up. I'll probably stay and keep voting pro-firearms, anti-socialism. This is a great place to live, except for the political trends (& the %#$%^# freeway traffic).
Actually, I only live 5.5 miles from work, don't have to use the freeway at all and the wife walks to work! Pretty hard to beat those amenities anywhere.
Davis has primed the citizens to vote a little smarter next time, as he dumped a load on the "faithful" right after he won. I don't think the Democrats will do so well next time. of course, we'll need someone better than Simon and his "brain trust" campaign mgrs!

Yep, this is our home and we'll stay and fight for our rights. Others are free to run away and hide, but considering the fact that the policies of CA invariably make their way to the national level, running away seems stupid.
I find it gratifying that Simon, as terrible a buffoon as he is, and with the terrible mismanagement of the election, received 45% of the vote. That was (no surprise) before Davis' revelation of the budget problem (think Governor "everything's for sale" Davis being Enron's largest recipient of campaign contributions nationwide had anything to do with the deficit?).
So the next four years are going to be ugly; we need to work on not losing ground and getting proper representation elected in '06. Liberals are doing a wonderful job alienating the moderate democrats who are the heart of their party (and power). Geez, they're talking about a bunch of grandmothers doing a nude anti-war (anti-everything, pro-nothing) protest in SF this weekend! Bring it on!
In the mean time, the Republican party is licking it's chops and grooming proper candidates, not throw-aways like Simon and crew. Remember, Regan was a CA governor, and outside of the vocal minorities that cluster around SF and LA, CA is moderate to conservative. It will have conservative representation again. This will happen sooner, rather than later as long as the honorable citizens remain and fight for their rights. The weak are welcome to leave.

A sign of more Californian butting in...
Just saw on the news some area in Cali is making it illegal to declaw your own cat. Just wait until they say a three course meal is required twice a day for all animals!

More great use of money and time:

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance Monday that changes the city's health code to make pets' owners the animals' guardians.
I'm sure that now those animal abusers will think twice before harming their animals.

Whoa! Don't confuse SF with CA! SF is a slimehole of ultra-liberalism. Most of CA isn't.
If you think about it, what's happening in CA is exactly the reason why the USA is a Rebublic and not a Democaracy.

I completely agree with you, Larry. California, unfortunately, becomes the model for the rest of the nation for many things, so if you give up and move, chances are the silliness will eventually come to your state. California is the one state that must be turned around.
I have also spoken to many here who told me that they won't buy any handguns this year and beyond due to the new laws (new HSC card required, proof of residency, thumbprint, and so on), but if that's the case, those who imposed those laws have won. I will be buying more handguns this year, and have a spare Glock 32 and a Sig P226 ST in .357 Sig on my list. I was able to use my DD Form 214 as an exception to having a BFSC card (the new HSC card, good for only five years, replaced the BFSC card as of January 1st -- the BFSC card was supposed to be good for life, but I guess not!), so will need to take the HSC test to get the card. Yes, it's more hoops to jump through, but I'll jump through them.

Yep, make Feinstein/Boxer/Pelosi/Gray/Perata/Brady very happy: give in to their wishes and stop buying guns. Think about the damage this mentality will do to the firearms industry with CA accounting for over 25% of sales.
And Ken, all I can say is I am NOT helping you move a safe large enough for your entire colletcion upstairs. :D

I didn't leave the People's Republic of California just because I lost a substantial portion of my Second Amendment civil rights, but that loss was a significant factor in the decision. I lost a big chunk of my First Amendment civil rights. I lost a big chunk of my Fourth Amendment civil rights. I was surrounded on all sides by illegal aliens and criminals, and the P.R.C. chooses to do nothing about either group. My taxes were raised, raised, and raised again, and the money was squandered on leftist extremist causes. Since I lived in Silicon Valley, there was no chance I could be issued a permit to carry concealed firearms to protect my life from the predations of the illegal aliens and criminals; the ratio of law enforcement officers (and fire fighters) to civilians, however, was among the lowest in the land. My elected so-called "representatives" not only didn't represent men, but condescended to me and insulted my intelligence.
I have neither wife nor children to consider, and since I'm an artist, I don't take day jobs completely seriously, although I've always been a competent, reliable employee. I didn't own any property. I miss a few friends, but we're in touch by E-mail, and they know they're welcome to visit any time.
I miss the mild weather and beaches, but those are small prices to pay for living in the United States.

I have to say its sad the rules CA has. I am going to ship a gun to someone there. I would have been able to do this a week ago, but need to go through my FFL, taking more time and money. In the future I hate to say all unfriendly gun states mostly CA will have to pay $30 extra for shipping if I will ship them one again. I was hoping the state would fall off in 1984 and sink like they told me, but I keep hoping. I passed on a job making a lot more money there, it was not worth giving up my cars, motorcycles and guns.
