Im thinking about getting a marlin 336 and having the barrel cut off at 16 inches. What does it cost to have that done? Anyone have pictures of one thats cut down?

Those have a tubular mag, right? Wouldn't you have to cut down the mag as well?

It can be done, but cutting the magazine will increase the cost unless you find one with a half magazine tube. It will be more cost effective to find one of the Marlins with the shorter factory barrel. Marlin made quite a few Mauraders back in the 50's and 60's with 16" barrel. They made a similar rifle in 88 and 89 but only a few of those were made. More recently they made the Spikehorn with 16" barrel with a youth length stock. They are out there if you look.

Will a standard length stock fit on a spikehorn?
