Those are fun, have you seen a ceremonial one?
They're as big as a midget!
They behead cows with those...:what:
You know, if it's drawn, you have to draw blood before it's sheathed.
Either the other guy or your's!
I wonder if anyone ever held up to that belief...:D

I ended up paying $56 for this one. I have seen the exact same one on other sites for twice that. I have heard that once a Khukri is unsheathed it must taste lood before being put back in the sheath. I intend on liveing by this because every time I get a new blade I end up cutting myself by accident and it will probably stay out of the sheath for quite a while anyway. I sent the money Monday and I am still anxiously waiting it arrival. :D I wonder how bad of cut this thing will give me. I am very carefull with knives but no matter what I always get cut. Nothing serious. Maybe its some kind of curse?!?!?!?:scrutiny:

Think I've purchased about 15 or so kuks from Uncle Bill. Super values, and incredible guy.

A third vote for Himalayan Imports and their knives. As far as drawing blood, a distinct possibility. If you swing that thing as hard as you can in a diagonal cross body stroke you are asking to eventually try to lop off your lower leg. Better to start the swing with the khuk across your body and let the follow through be out towards full arm extension away from your body. Swing at a controllable level.

i thought the "magic stone" treatment that the HI kamis cast,
protected the owner from accidental harm

Rust you say winstonsmith?

0000 steel wool and some gun oil, light polish, repeat as necessary. Keep the oil film on it at all times while using the stl wool. Wipe off clean. Do it again and again till it looks as good as you can get it.

Finish by coating it with a light film of oil.

Problem will be under the scales if they can't be removed.

Clipse, nice blade, use one of the smaller blades to nick yourself, please. The God of steel will be satisfied.

Adios

I thought I would let you know. This Khuk came from the Khukuri House in Kathmandu, Nepal. It came with a tag that read:

Sirupate : This is another popular knife used by the Gurkhas in the jungle. The knife derives its name from the "Siru" which is a slender and narrow type of leaf. The blade is 10 1/2" long and measures 15" with the handle. It has a wooden handle and the sheath is make of buffalo leather. It weighs 500 grams.

I am going to take some more pictures of it when time allows. I really like this thing though.:D
