A 646 (.40 S&W). Really wasn't looking for another wheelgun but this thing just felt too good. Should be a great SSR for IDPA. Already ordered 2 holsters, hi viz sight, and more clips. Can't wait to shoot her.

Good going ;) I'm curious how shooting the 40 S&W from a wheelgun will differ from shooting from a semi-auto.

Wow--that looks great. No wonder you're excited about heading to the range.

Just wondering............how long is the cylinder ? Is it long enough to make a 10mm L-frame?

Is the cylinder Titanium? It looks like it is a different material than the frame.

I would already own one except for that blasted Titanium cylinder, I just don't trust them - and i'm an S&W nut. Put a stainless cylinder on it and i'm in , maybe for two. Case

Just back from a quickie at the range. Only 100 rounds of light target loads but it was shweet. :D Double action was nice and smooth (for a frame mounted pin). Single was light and crisp. Recoil was nuttin but again these were light loads. Extraction was easy, no signs of sticking.

The cylinder is Ti and it is long enough to make 10mm. In fact, when I tried to load some rounds sans clips they sunk too far into the chambers. I got excited for a minute and pulled a 10 from my carry pistol. Alas, it needed another mm or so of depth for the 10 to chamber. I am guessing the .40 sunk so far because I had put a heavy taper crimp on the lightly loaded rounds for feeding sake as it is unlikely I will get the chambers chamfered.

As for reaming out a Ti cylinder to a longer chambering using a regular reaming tool, I have no knowledge but I bought this sucker specifically for IDPA and .40 should do for that.

S&W makes a 10mm revolver don't they? Or was that a Ruger I saw?

I handled one of those 646s today and it felt very nice, grips looked like they'd be too short, but they felt fine. I didn't get to shoot it though, but it belongs to the range, so I think I will eventually.;)
Can't buy one here yet tho, not on our famous list yet. Not like I need to buy a new pistol, I havn't even picked up my 625 yet.:D
Soon, soon.
