today I went to Shyda's Gun Shop in Lebanon, PA (a rather large firearms dealer built inside an old barn that usually has a wonderful selection of firearms and assorted goodies) to snag a KelTec P-11 or a .38 special derringer to have as a deep hideaway handgun; I must say that I was flabberghasted when I got down to the section of the counter that usually has the derringers, hi-point, keltec, and beretta mouseguns...it was picked clean sans .22LR derringers, a solo KelTec P32, a Beretta TomCat in .32acp, and a Beretta TomCat in .25 auto

now the ammo section; they basically carry only Remington and Federal handgun ammunition, but bulk order to keep prices reasonable; I chuckled when I saw a sizable amount of HydraShok stuff on the shelf, but the 50 round boxes of everything imaginable was empty :p

there was a good supply of American Eagle in .40S&W...not sure what to make of this; I guess it doesn't sell nearly as fast :scrutiny:

based upon what I saw today, the 'Obama' stimulus plan has succeeded in the firearms industry, especially with handguns and handgun ammunition; we're all stimulated to get what we can as fast as we can

Yes, you are correct... people are still buying guns like crazy. Every few days or so someone asks if the Obama panic is slowing down, and some people chime in and say it is, but I am not seeing that here.

I was at a gun show today.. I think it was the most crowded place I have ever been, including Times Sqaure at theatre hour. It was so crowded you could not walk down the aisles... $1400 Bushmaster AR's were actually selling!

If Obama's smart, he'll keep the threat of an AWB just over the horizon without actually passing it, to try and keep this craze going as long as possible. Much as everyone hates the price gouging, the Obama frenzy is creating some jobs. Only problem is all those people will be out on the street again if a ban does come to pass.

We didnt mind assisting the US Firearms Industry with a little cold hard cash.

Not with credit cards, additional debt or borrowing or anything with interest rates as they would like us to do.

Cheers.

Things are still pretty crazy here too. I am a plumbing contractor by trade, but we've been so slow, Im now working at a buddies gun store. Friday we sold 8 handguns. I sold three myself: a Glock 19 w/crimson trace laser grips, a Smith and Wesson 642 w/ laser grips, and a Taurus PT22. Not to mention the ammo is flying out the door. 38's and 9mm being the top sellers. Its just amazing, but Im thankful for the work! Kevin.

I just bought a few M57 Toks from SOG. It took me hours before I finally was able to get through. The girl I talked to said they can't even make a call out, as soon as the phone is put down it rings. She was just hired two weeks ago because of the immense demand. I guess the Big O's job creation stimulus is working!:)

.40 is probably the one ammo I do see with some regularity.

I live in Columbia,SC. Home of FN in the States. I talk to a few folks who work there several times a month. They can not keep up with demand for their 45 ACP FNP. BTW the Holder Ammunition Plan is doing nicely too.....Hilldogg is trying to get employment gains in the full auto sector, but the NFA is too repressive...Only a few Mexican drug peddlers can legally buy and sell full auto these days. I guess she is supplying them with brief cases full of those stamps. Meanwhile back at the ranch in Harlem her hubby Bill is back to collecting womens briefs.

Well, my plan for the last several years was to use any tax return money on firearms and such, so......it doesn't really matter who is in the White House.

As noted before, there's a photo of the current president in a local gun shop near me with a sign under his name that reads: Salesman of the year.

today I went to Shyda's Gun Shop in Lebanon, PA

Mmmmmmm...Shydas! My favorite local shop! And cheapest powder and primers ANYWHERE!

I bought my 629 from them a few years back. I wouldn't call them a "large" dealer, but they're pretty good folks and keep a good selection. Oh, and their prices are GREAT! Can't believe their shelves were that empty but the last time I stopped in on a Saturday (~two weeks ago) there had to be 30 people in there which is wall-to-wall crowded for that place!

Where are you from?
