I went to a gunshop today and asked them what I could get for my 11/87 SPS Deer Gun with rifled barrel and a 26" vent rib barrel. The guy looked at his books and told me around $400. I want to trade for a Winchester SX2 with rifled barrel which runs $699. Was he trying to screw me over or am I being to stubborn.

For a trade???? Hell----around here you'd be lucky to get $300 for it and they would probably sell it at $450.

Sell the deer barrel for $150+ on here and take $350 trade in value on the 11-87 at the dealer. Your setup with both barrels will go on the rack for $650 or so if you trade it in as is, assuming it is in excellent condition. $450 straight money if the dealer buys it from you is a pretty good deal, $450 in trade value against the X2 is not robbery but not a super good deal either. If you want the X2 and don't want much of a hassle take the $450 if you can get it out of him.
