A couple weeks ago I spent some time bedding my M1A. During the process I took lots of pictures to detail the process. Those pics and captions are now online at http://www.dimark.com/shooting/M1A_Bedding/

Whew - that was a lot of work to make that web page, Larry! Good job, on it and the rifle! Finished rifle looks great - tell us how it shoots!

Great job on both the site and the rifle!! You almost make it look easy. That is something I want to have done to my rifle one of these days. Was that a standard walnut stock?
I traded for my buddy's walnut match stock off his "loaded" M1A as he bought one of the heavy laminated ones. Last time out I was shooting off the bench at 200 yards with the standard peep sights and was able to hold 15 shots in the 10 ring with some handloads using the Sierra 168 HPBT bullet. I must have been having a good day!! It is a fun rifle to shoot.

Larry, You have not begun to receive enough thanks for all of the hard work you put into that web page.
You use LOTS of clay but I assume that you are a safety man. Nothing wrong with wearing suspenders and a belt at the same time. ;)
Pictures do say a thousand words.
Thanks

Thanks Hank.
One comment on BattleRifles.com really ate at me so this weekend I decided to bed the front of the receiver as well. It was a bit tricky, but everything seems to be OK. I'm taking the gun to the range tomorrow morning to test. If all's well, Ill start detailing the process tomorrow night.

Nice work Larryw.
I cheated and used a milling machine. First time I ever used one too and it was for woodworking. :)

M1A doesn't have a selector switch.

Makes sense to glass it over since it helps to keep dirt out of the action. Our sibby guns don't have the force multiplier unit anyway (or to paraphrase the great Mykl, "pogo stick" lock).
