Removing barrel

A customer brought in an old S&W 67 C 12 gage that was fired with a mud plugged barrel, needless to say the first 3 inches peeled like a banana. I have a new barrel on hand but would like to know if it was threaded with or without any type of thread locker. I can guess I'm headed for some busted knuckles ether way I look at it.

Thanks Gents.

I have no idea, but I doubt it.

Anyway, if in doubt, heat the receiver up with a heat gun or propane torch till it smokes and it will release the lock-tight if there is any.

It will also help with the old dried grease & oil.
It will also expand the aluminum receiver faster then the steel barrel threads and help loosen them.

It will not hurt the barrel or receiver if you don't get over-exuberant with the heat.
