ReloaderFred March 30, 2009, 07:39 PM Due to liability concerns, they probably adhere to SAAMI specs for all their calibers. Hope this helps. Fred camoman33935 March 30, 2009, 09:01 PM i was kinda lookin for specifics like: what kind of powder? how much of that powder? what primers? or if anybody has load specs that are close to buffalo bores with the 180gr. i would appreciate it orionengnr March 30, 2009, 09:50 PM I'm guessing that would be proprietary  Of course, you could always email them and ask...but I'm betting the answer would be (see above). bullseye308 March 30, 2009, 10:04 PM They won't tell. It may even be a blend. Best bet is with a chrono and be careful. Sorry can't be of more help.:uhoh: ArchAngelCD March 31, 2009, 01:19 AM camoman33935, Buffalo Bore is using a very special blend of powders not available to us as reloaders. Somehow they are achieving higher velocities that almost anyone else while claiming to be within SAAMI pressure standards. I'm sorry to say I don't see a way we as reloaders can match what they are doing because we don't have access to the powders commercial reloaders use. All that said, there is a new powder out there that will come close. It seems Hodgdon Lil'Gun will give you higher velocities that any other powder available in a .357 Magnum with a heavy bullet. (works great with the .44 Magnum too) Also, it does this while developing less pressure than the other powders too. I have gotten very good success with a 180gr .357 Magnum round loaded with Lil'Gun for my Carbine. That powder produces clean accurate ammo. Check the Hodgdon Load Data Site (http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp) and you will see what I mean. Lil'Gun will come really close to matching what Buffalo Bore is offering. (and maybe even surpass it) A .357 Magnum round using a full charge of Lil'Gun under a 180gr bullet will surprise you.... (with both a Jacketed or Hard Cast GC bullet)
