I need to replace the trigger spring in my savage 24 s, and do not know how to go about the disasembly of the trigger and hammer mechanism. the 24 s is a side locking mechanism and not like the ones you find the most info about. I included an exploded view for easy reference if any one can help me in disassembling ie what to remove first etc I would appreciate it.

Well I got it done. The triggerspring and trigger were a real bugger to get back in though :cuss:

I can't get action open on my 24s-e

If the bolt lever won't unlock barrels you must remove butt-stock and then you can see how locking bolt is operated and what you have to do to unlock it.
On the mod 24 with side barrel switch button the inside parts will jam action it button or screw on outside is broken or falls off. If your mod 24 is an early one with button all the reproduction repair parts needed are listed all the time in the E-bay gun parts.com then sub search for Savage repair parts.
