Curious as to which of the 45LC lever guns will handle the hot 45LC loads. Surely there's got to be one that won't KB.

this included the WINCHESTER, MARLIN, and ROSSI leverguns.
BUT, if you think you're gonna save money and turn it into a 454CASULL using 454 pressures without having to buy a 454CASULL levergun yore in for a sad awakening.
Safe and sane 45COLT handloads under 30M PSI shot from a 20" 45COLT carbine will duplicate 454CASULL ballistics obtained from a 454CASULL Freedom Arms revolver.

I know this is an OLD thread- but it asks my question. I want to use some hot loads for hunting hogs in my Rossi 92 .45 Colt. The Buffalo Bore loads warn about using in arms capable of handling higher pressures. Will the Rossi 92 take this kind of pressure?

I believe that the Rossi 92 will take high pressure loads. The 92 action design is very strong. In fact, I seem to recall that Rossi makes (or recently made) a version in .454 Casull. If it can take a .454, then it can take any .45 colt load you can dream up.

The rifles that you should NEVER shoot hot .45 Colt loads in are the replicas of the Winchester toggle link rifles. That includes the Uberti Henry, 1866 (yellowboy) and 1873 rifles. The toggle link action used in these rifles can not take high pressures. An overload will blow the bolt straight out the back of the receiver, and probably through your shooting glasses and into your eye. Not good.

The superiority of design of the 92 over the others metioned has to be seen to be believed. Tear both down & gawk at the guts. Stronger and smaller.

My wife's Rossi 92 is chambered in .44magnum, BTW, which has significantly more pressure than the standard .45 Colt.

I seem to remember a hog hunting article on the .45 Colt used in the '92 clones that suggested safe pressure levels in the .454 Casull range. Even moderate velocity with large cast bullets will take hogs without any problem at all.
