My dad has been hunting with the same .303 sporter for the last 20 years or so. About 10 years ago I had it completely refinished for him as a Christmas gift. Last hunting season he asked me if there was any way to put a scope on it. I don't think his eyes are as good as they used to be.
So, what is the best scope mount for a British .303?

Which Lee Enfield is it? A no 1 or a no 4/5? They will have very different mounting options.

I've asked my mom to take some pictures and send them to me. How do I tell the difference?

A No. 1 has the rear sight on the barrel, while a No.4 has it on the rear of the receiver.
The ATI no-gunsmith mount works very well if you have a No. 4. It replaces the rear sight and clamps down to the charger bridge. I took a big fat doe last year with mine. It's a nice non-permanent way to scope your rifle.

I've had excellent results with sk steel mounts. It's rock solid for sure. Brownells has them for about $65. Money well spent.

351 Winchester, is that for a No1 or No4? I guess I could just go check them out. huh?

I think it must be a No.1 because IIRC it has an adjustable rear leaf sight. Does this really narrow down the options?
