BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Two U.S. soldiers were killed and four wounded Thursday night when their patrol was ambushed in an impoverished Shi'ite area of northeast Baghdad, the U.S. military said Friday.

The soldiers were ambushed at about 8 p.m. in the Sadr City area of Baghdad. Earlier Thursday, two car-bombers drove into the police station compound in Sadr City, killing at least eight Iraqis.

My first reaction was: how long does it take to clean up those crazies?

then I had to remind myself: one dead soldier a day out of what, 100,000? It sure is a whole lot less than the civilian death rate from violent crimes at home? um isn't it? (I have no doubt it's less than the traffic accident death rate)
