i have a nagant revolver 1931. the wood grip on left side is loose. there seems
to be no way of tightening it from the outside. before i take it apart, does anyone out there have any suggestions.
thanks

On further review of the diagram, I think you will have to take the whole frame apart.

The grips have a catch nut on the outside, and the screws go outward through the individual halves of the frame. Effectively, you're going to have to take the entire gun apart to get at it.

He is correct... you'll have to break the frame down... it'll require the removal of one screw!

Go to 'Gunboards.com' and find the '1895 Nagant' specific sub-forum for complete dissassembly info - and lots of posts by other Nagant collector/shooters. They are an interesting revolver - and the reason I got a C&R ffl. All you need is a screwdriver - like the two-bitted wood-handled one often delivered with the revolver (... and a holster, lanyard, cleaning rod, too - in vg+ shape - often for as little as $70 +s/h!). Welcome to the world of Nagant revolvers - an interesting piece of Victorian-era engineering.

thanks guys, i down loaded the take down and the parts. i don't know much about it. i got it an auction to match my two mosin nagant rifles. it is 1895 model made in 1931. there a star above the year with a arrow point up. that must be where it was made. i may be wrong, it looks brand new there is no ware or marks on it no where. even the wood looks new. it is hard to believe that it has never been fired!!!!
is there an online club?

thanks again going out to work bench. lose hand grip will be fixed!:D

Above the right grip is a large screw, loosen it about 4 turns, tap it with a plastic mallet or small peice of wood. The left frame will pop off. Very strange the way the grips are attached.
