Use this when people argue for a more draconian AWB and claim that no one could have predicted the firepower developments way back when...

Wow! I want one of those. That would be really cool to have. "I have a 20-shot reolver. What do you have that you think is so special, hmm?":p
Nice work. Where did you ever find such a thing anyway?
Does anyone make a holster for it?:scrutiny: :neener:

IIRC, I remember seeing a picture of a revolver which was current production in the 70s. It had 3 barrels, of 3 different calibers, and 3 rows of ammo in the cylinder.
What the heck was that thing?

Point of fact, the 1932 Broomhandle Mauser in 7.65x25mm did have a 20-round detachable box magazine.

The most interesting display was of pinfire revolvers. These days we take for granted that a self-contained cartridge has a primer mounted in the center of the cartridge bottom, but there was once several competing systems. In the 1820s, a French gunsmith named Casimir Lefaucheux invented the pinfire system, which featured a priming pin that protruded from the side of the cartridge.
Lefaucheux's original design was for a double-barreled shotgun. A pinfire revolver was patented in England in 1854, though my sources disagree as to whether it was Casimir or his son Eugene who patented the design. In either case, the pinfire revolver was used extensively during the Crimean War and adopted by the French Navy. The example shown to the right is an 18-shot pinfire revolver with twin barrels.

Oleg's 20 shooter mind muddling.
Lookn at the pattern of holes in cylinder.
And orientation of the barrels.
Havin trouble figuring geometry of star or other such timing device.
Or as Dr. Spook said...."That is not logical.".

Oops....tilt head, let wax fall oout and the logic is obvious.

The name PINFIRE comes from the design of the cartridge which has a pin sticking out the side, when struck, fired the shell

In the article on what arms Lewis and Clark carried, was a mention of a repeating air rifle. It quotes one of the explorers saying it could shoot 22 rounds in 22 seconds!!

Hmmmm..... I think maybe they'd get less muzzle flip if the pinfire revolver fired out of the bottom barrel, instead of the top one.... -it would be funny to go into a gun shop with that thing and ask about holsters for it tho'.
