i must be a dreaming. what should a man be paying for a box of Rem, Win, or Fed 45 ACP ammo. i read other places where people think $23.50 is a good price for a box of 50 win sxz 230 fmj "training" ammo! please somebody help me with what i should be paying. some places were as high as $33 for plain target ammo. bought my last ammo in the late 1990's and now i have a real case of sticker shock. every time i double tap my glock 36 it is going to cost me a dollar!!! this is ridiculous. what does a guy do, spend a weeks pay to buy a case which you can shoot up in a day. i thought $10 or $12 was high in the nineties! give me some feedback on what to do when i like to go shoot 4 or 5 boxes with my brother at paper. does this mean i got to reload when i sold all my gear back in the 60's? good grief, golf is cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!

$34.99 is not uncommon now for .45 ACP per 50 rounds. Get used to it, and thank the Demos for it.

Then why did the price go up under a republican president?

balin, that was a result of commodities pricing.
This is a result of ammunition supply and demand.

"Demos" have nothing to do with it (yet). They're lying low on gun control.
It's morons maxing out their credit cards on ammo and shady vendors looking for any excuse to put the screw to us.

It's amusing how so many people are looking for easy targets (i.e. Obama admin) in whom to blame for the increase in ammo prices. I would tend to think that a ~40% drop in the DOW in the last year (along w/ similar drop in housing prices, increase in unemployment, blue chip company bankruptcies, etc.) might have a pretty substantial impact on the amount of guns and ammo that people are buying.

A local gander mountain has 50rd boxes for $50. Now the fact that I sold my p220 doesn't bother me as much. I haven't seen any 45's in any of the local walmarts in quite sometime.
