I recently inherited a "Colt Army Special 38" (as marked on the barrel). What can I shoot with this gun?? 38 short? 38 Long Colt? 38 Special? I'm obviously confused!! thanks for your knowledgeble assistance!

It's chambered to use .38 Special. but you can also use .38 Short Colt and .38 Long Colt. .38 S&W should neither fit or be used. So far as it goes, I can't think of any good reason to use .38 Colt Short or Long.

In 1927 Colt changed the name (but not the revolver itself) to Official Police. It is sometimes better known by the latter name.

any holster labeled for a K frame smith will work. I alternate a holster between an M10 and an Army Special and an Official Police.
