Does anyone know anything about these shotguns? I can pick one up foor $160 and wondered how they functioned and if that was a good price. Thanks for your help.

We shot Yamamoto down, sank the Yamato, but I've never heard of a Yamamato.
(note, if anybody else gets this, please laugh for me. I hate being the only one who thinks something is ROTFLMAO funny)

I thought it was funny... I actually answered. I never heard of a shotgun related to the words "Yamato", "Yamamoto", or "Yamamato". Did a google search for fear that I'd offended but still didn't find anything. Therefore, I can honestly say that I did not offend my memory... it was and always will be right! :D

Looking to sell or trade my Yamamoto Auto-Pointer, semi-auto, vent-rib, 12 gauge shotgun. It's pretty much a Browning A5 clone that was made in Japan by Miroku.
Includes 5 boxes of game/sport ammo.
Excellent condition with a few scuff marks. I've owned it for about 7 years and have never used it, so it's time for it to go.

I used to have the Yamamoto 650cc very reliable but no good in bad weather.

First time I've seen such a sensitive or vituperous Kiwi !
I don't care about spelling, but as an advanced collector I have never heard or seen that SG so he needed to provide more data rather than rudely flying off at the mouth when asking for help!

"...just thought you guys knew everything..." We do. It sometimes just takes a bit longer. The shotgun was made by the Yamamoto Manufacturing Company(a Japanese company that currently makes rice processing equipment and imported by Sloan's. Don't know who they were/are. No website.). 'AUTO-POINTER' was the trade name.
"...FTF in Plainfield..." That means Face to Face(no shipping) in whichever municipality of Plainfield the guy lives. There are a bunch of 'em.
$160 isn't a terrible price for a semi-auto shotgun, but I'd think twice about any firearm I couldn't find any on-line info about. Mind you, that may be why it's at that price. Especially if you can't get parts. Had a really nice Hungarian made O/U, long ago. My first shotgun. (Thought an O/U would be closer to shooting a rifle. That doesn't work.) One ejector broke. Couldn't fix it.
