"Sandusky, OH" Ithaca Pump Guns

I was at one of the local gun stores this morning and saw something new. The new owners of Ithaca are in production with guns marked with "Sandusky, OH". I saw three guns, all in the same configuration. 12-gauge, 20" barrel, bead front sight, parkerized, black synthetic stock. Choke did not appear to be marked, but I am guessing IC or CYL. The price at this store was $520, meaning they are probably $50 cheaper somewhere else.
These appeared to be solid, well-made guns. The action of the one I examined was smooth. The stocks were decent, but the butt stock may have been hollow. If I had not switched entirely over to 870s, one might have come home with me.

I've been looking forward to hearing about how good the new 37s are, thanks for posting this.

My father gave a (used) Ithaca Model 37 to me in 1961 as a high school graduation gift. Since that long ago time, I have had more than a couple of 37s pass through my hands and will always have a soft spot in my heart for them. I saw and handled some Model 37 specimens the "new" Ithaca company had on display at the NRA Convention in Louisville last year. They were beautiful shotguns, indeed, but I think they were "high-end", special or custom order shotguns that may or may not reflect the quality level of their "entry" level guns. I wish them well. The shotgun world would be a lesser place without new Model 37s displayed on the rack.

They're making a 28 pump in a tricked-out version that will be substantially more than those three, but when I saw it at the SHOT show, it sure was nice...

The 28" barrel models are selling for around $850. The reason the tactical model is so much less expensive is because the barrel is fixed.
