Do not put a folding stock on your 10/22 until September, 2004. Otherwise, you are manufacturing an illegal post-ban semi-automatic assault weapon.
And for a really nice mod....get a sound suppressor for it.

Oh man, the skys the limit when you are getting funky with a 10/22 - half the fun is choosing what you want and personalizing. I've seen some really cool setups - maybe folks will post their setup pics/specs here.

- - -Other than the AR15 type.
Well, MAYBE the 1911 can have more, DIFFERENT, mods, but not all at one time!:p
I don't know of a 10/22 stock being offered with the fore end with Picatinny rails on top, bottom, and both sides, a la the AR option, but you can get almost everything else - - -
Technicolor stocks, multi-optics, white and red lights, lasers, all kindsa barrel configs, magazine variants, extended bolt releases, trigger cranks, bipods - - - I dunno what all.
I blundered into a good buy on the nicer (checked stock) 10/22 a while back. I was at the range with it, mounting a scope.
Guy walks up, says: What kinda barrel?
Me: Uh, I dunno. Regular Ruger.
Him: Nice stock. Looks like real wood. What brand is it?
Me: It IS real wood. Came on the gun.
Him: Vorquarssen trigger?
Me: No, factory. Had a 'smith smooth it up a little.
Him: Did he install the [missed the brand name] hammer and mag release?
Me: Nuh-uh. Factory standard.
Him: Well, that's a neat sling swivel installation, anyway.
Me: Well, actually, the swivel studs were standard on this model.
I really think the guy was trying to be complimentary. I didn't want to be rude to him, but I had just what I wanted: A nice little plinker/squirrel-and-rabbit rifle with decent sights and trigger. It has a simple sling. I own one extra ten-round factory magazine.
I finished putting the little Simmons scope on it and sighted it in, dead-on at 50 yards. Loaded up my gear. The guy was fiddling with HIS 10/22 - - Black synthetic stock, Harris bipod, barrel-mounted light with a curly black cord, and a 4-14X50 scope. He offered to let me shoot it, but I had to go . . . .
:D
