Might anyone describe the quality of the trigger of the Thompson/Center G2 Contender single shot pistol?

I have the G2 carbine, same action. It's one of my finest and is a real tack driver. However, the factory trigger made it almost unshootable. I sent the action off to Mike Bellm for a trigger job. See link below.

Wow, not a ringing endorsement for factory work. I truly appreciate knowing of your experience.

I needed to send my G2 off to get a trigger job also. It had a 6lb 9oz trigger from the factory.

I just went to my gunsafe and checked the trigger on my Encore and it breaks crisp and clean at about 2.5#. Its a 25-06 and I rate it as one hell of a gun.

My encore breaks just shy of 3 pounds. I think the scale said 2.96 or something like that I realy like the trigger on it. My contender how ever was breaking around 6.5# and was not to crisp. I had a local guy do a trigger job on it. I currently breaks around 4# maybe a hair over.

My Encore came with a very nice two pound pull. My G2 was about five pounds and a little creepy when I got it.

I smoothed all the non-critical areas myself and added a Bellm trigger spring. Now she's a crispy three pounds.

The Encore and the G2 have a very simple ignition system compared to the original Contender, which could be fully adjusted. Only the trigger over-travel adjustment remains on the G2/Encore.
