What's the difference between the Savage's and Browning's?

I saw a Savage 16 gauge semi auto. Not sure how old it is but it looked identical to a Browning A5. It said it was a Savage/Browning Patent or something in the ad for it.

Is it similar to the Browning and what's the differences? Is it just as good?

It's the savage 720, a licensed copy of the A5. Dunno how they compare to the Brownings, but I have a similar model, the 775a, and am very happy with it.
