Howdy, found a nice one used in a shop. What's the ballpark for a good asking price on this beauty? It's at about 99.5%, $1149.
TIA

That's not high, it's absurd.
You can pick up one on Gunbroker for $900, maybe less. Add $75-100 for dealer's fees.

I bought mine new for about $1050 from my local shop.
You can find them used on gunbroker.com $900 or less.

I paid $700 for mine about a year ago. I'd rate it ANIB, near perfect condition. A neat pistol, no doubt.

I was seriously looking at one last year, but decided against it.
It was $800 WITH a couple of extra magazines, brand spakin' new.

WOW! Yeah, I took the Item #s from the FN website and Googled it $975-999 BNIB, at several places. I guess Gander Mountain is really cashing in on the gun run, eh? Thanks for your time & input.
OK, now I guees I'd like some feedback on those that have bought one of the USGs 5.7x28s.
a.) Ammo availability/ cost comments.
b.) Fit and finish opinion.
c.) Shooting opinions and impressions for ease and accuracy, and reliability.
d.) Anyone who's reloading the 5.7 inputs are valued as well.

I paid $998.00 for a new FN5.7 back in October 2005. The dealer included one box ammo with it. I have not shot it yet. I have not opened the ammo box.

Unbelievable prices. A friend of mine just picked one up (box an all) for $650.00. Seen it, i give it about 98% NRA. Found it at a Pawn shop. I guess you just got to look around.

The very best that I've seen used here locally is $650, and that was a year ago.

I haven't seen a used one around to price.
I did see one of the KC Chiefs football players order one at Cabelas a few months ago.

a.) Like most other ammo - very tough to find at the moment. Best to look for SS195 or SS197 for range practice
b.) Fit and finish on par with other polymer semi's and right up there with FN quality
c.) FUN to shoot. Low recoil; BIG bang; Fast back on target; No reliability issues after my 300+ rds
d.) Google Elite Ammunition for excellent info on reloading and other available loads.
Get it, you won't regret it, but don't pay the crazy Cabellas prices - can be had for anywhere between $850 and $950 new IMHO
Now wait for the anti 5.7x28 crowd to jump on the band wagon

Could you imagine if Taurus made a 5.7x28? the universe would collapse in on itself.

It's about the only ammo that I can find right now...rather abundant compared to others, and cheaper.

Dont do it yourself, I'm under the impression the Warranty voids, unless you go to every major gun forum and curse FN until they get you a new one, and Elite Ammo CS has been questionable,

I'm not aware of a single gun company in existence that doesn't void warranties with the use of reloads.

Gelgoog, Yea, $650.00. Seen the receipt. Couldn't believe it myself. He also picked up a 99% S&W 642 for $300.00 complete with box and papers. He roams pawn shops from Jax. to Orlando to Lake City all the time. He called me about 3 weeks ago, asked me if i wanted a Berretta 92F .9mm LNIB for $400.00. I blinked because i already had one years ago, and didn't like it. but for flipping it on GB, probably would of been worth it. He's the luckiest guy there is. He just walks into good deals. It's even rubbing off on me. I just picked up a NIB unfired Buckmark 5.5 target for $150.00 from another friend (he even set the price!). Sorry to steal the thread, I'll call my friend though to keep his eyes open for another Five-seveN.

I paid $800 used LNIB and find ammo available pretty easily (SS197).

No apology necessary. I had an idea the deals are out there and really never purchase a gun until I've researched it some. Particularly when the first price seen was in a Gander Mt.! It's always fun to hear the good luck stories. :)

Never pay more than $900 for one.
Reloading for the 5.7 is a little touchy, not a good for new reloaders.

In the height of the post election turmoil they were selling on GB for 900-1000 used on the basis that they "were going to be banned". That is when I sold one along with 2500 rounds for a tidy profit. The election of Obama has made me more money than my 401K and all my IRAs combined.
