That's OK...these nukes are in the hands of the only stable democracy in the Middle East.

We only have to worry about the nukes in the hands of theocratic nutball holy warriors...like Iran, or the United States under "Let's redo the Middle East, 'cuz God says so" Dubyah.

Good point. Though Israeli politics does include its share of theocratic nutballs, they don't hold a candle to many other nations. And of course the Israeli weapons are balanced by the size of their potential opponents; in my view the world would be much more stable if Switzerland, Taiwan, Singapore, etc. had nuclear weapons.

Unfortunately US "nonproliferation" policy tends to restrict nukes to criminal nations, just as gun control restricts guns to criminals.

The first use of the Soviet Styx antiship missile was to sink the Israeli destroyer Eilat in 1967. The Israelis have an export business in naval weaponry, notably the Gabriel series of antiship missiles.

Anyone know when the refit of Israeli subs with fuel cells starts?
