Hi,

I was wondering if any of you use Maxpedition's Rolly Polly Medium-sized dump pouch to hold your shotgun shells or empties during skeet/trap shooting. Do they work well?

works well but expensive compared to this http://www.mosquitocreek.com/prodinfo.asp?number=BT421T%20%20%20%20GREEN&variation= or this https://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=112172 and I think Walmart has something similar for 13 dollars but no nylon belt

Yeah,

But the Rolly Poly is waterproof with a lid and a grommet to empty out water. Plus it comes in tan!

Oh and I forgot to mention that it folds up on your belt to 3"x3" which is convenient!

Funny, a friend was just recommending this to me earlier this afternoon. I am also fond of SAW pouches.

My empties go into this sucker:

I love it. It has a zipper at the bottom, which makes unloading the empties into my plastic sacks a snap.

The loaded shells go into one of these for sporting clays, five stand, and FITASC:

and one of these for skeet and trap:

What's the advantage to this? Shooting 5 stand in the rain? Keep your empties dry? And if it's waterproof with a lid... why does it have a grommet to empty out water?

Although the Maxpedition is very well made and folds up unobtrusively, it is really made to pick up spent magazines.I have used it to hold 25 shells before, which it does well, but not as trick as a more rigid SG pouch expressly designed for clay sports, unless you are out in rough grouse country ect where the lid come in handy.
