lightest recoiling 40s&w ammo?

my wife is thinking about a kahr p9, i have a p40 i'm going to let her try to see if it fits and if she can handle the trigger. any suggestions on light recoiling factory ammo. thanks, saddlebum

Try American Eagle 165gr FMJ. It is mild. Federal stuff is pretty mild too although it has alot of flash which is distracting. Good luck.:)

Federal's 165gr PD load would be the equivalent in carry-type ammo, if she decides it fits so well that you can go buy yourself a P9, since she already has a P40. ;)

Ligher bullets are generally going to be lighter recoil but may be a "sharper" recoil. 135 gr reloads would be your best bet but I'm not familiar enough with factory ammo to make a suggestion other than to avoid PMC. It's pretty hot for 165 gr.
