I have a friend that owns a gunshop; he takes in a lot of consighnments. He just got in a load of really cool stuff, and in it was a conversion kit for converting M-16/AR-15 rifles to use Steyr Aug mag's. We can't figure out why in the heck someone would want to do this. Anyone ever seen one of these?:confused:

Sure it wasn't for a Beta C mag, like a replacement feed tower?


AUG mags seem totally wrong for the magazine well and a person would be a fool to try to modify an AR15/M16 mag if it included removing metal. A modification to the mag well to hold in mag blocks like those needed for Colt 9mm stick mags, that's atleast liveable.

Ahhh...... pretty sure, Aug mags snap right in. But who knows, guy had some weird stuff!:confused:

Was it something that just locked into the mag well, or was it something that required the mag well to be modified?

Keederdag, I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but are you sure that it wasn't the other way around? I have heard of people trying to adapt AR mags to other guns- I've seen pictures of a HK93 that was using AR mags.

It's Ok; We cant figure it either; would make a whole lot more sense the other way around would'nt it? But no, it converts an AR to use Aug mags. Why is the question?:confused:
