I'm thinkin about buying one of these baby's from inter-ord. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with one? The desighn differs from the dragonov, it's closer to an AK. I'm really curiouse about the optics as well. I know theyre not a "sniper rifle" so I'm not expecting 1/10000000 MOA or anything, I just think they look cool+fun.:D Keeder

You might have trouble finding the five and ten round mags for 'em. They also run about eighty bucks apiece.

Still, the gun does have a certain coolness to it, doesn't it?

Comes with two mag's, about all I'll need; and yes there seems to be a high coolness factor!:D

Is this a Romak 3 aka FPK aka PSL that they are for some reason just calling a different name?

Here's a page about the Romak, and you can find some reviews too. From what I see its a fun and accurate gun with match ammo.

keederdag-
Yep. I've had it about three years now. The trigger pull on it from the factory was the worst I have ever seen on an AK type. (It's an RPK receiver actually)
I replaced the trigger with one from Redstar Arms.
The buttstock is impossible to get any kind of cheek weld on so when I shoot it I strap a big thick cheek rest from Sinclair on it.
They require light bullets of 150 grains or less to get good accuracy.
The Wolf 147 grain stuff is a good bet. I have a bunch of Hungarian 150 grain softpoints mine likes.
Next I want to remove the wood from inside the handguards that is touching the barrel.
Like you said, they are fun and interesting and shoot reasonably well once fiddled with a bit.
Always draws a small crowd at the range if anybody is there besides me. :)
I got 4 spare mags from K-Var back when they had them. The K-Var mags are much better made than the ones that came with it.

Ok, sound like I gotta have it; why are the K-Var mags better? Are they made elswhere/for a diff. gun?

Also, the one I'm looking at has an 8X scope on it; do you know anything about it? I'm hear'in all kinds of wierd scope info!

The K-Var mags had no misiing welds, less sharp edges and a much more evenly applied finish than the ones that came with it.
They were also Romanian, but I bet they came from a different factory in Romania than the ones that came with the rifle.
Please note that these are not finely finished rifles. They are typical Romanian AK rough on the exterior.
But that has it's own charm. :)

What kind of scope do you have?

Mine was sposeda arrive with a 4x military issue PSO-1 scope but instead showed up with a Russian 6x scope and, verily, I rejoiced. :D
That is exactly the scope I was planning anyway to immediately upgrade to.
